Have a Facebook page but don’t know how to make it stand out?
There is nothing to be embarrassed about. Promoting a business on Facebook is a relatively new topic for most people.
But as always, the big players are quick to exploit this simple tool to gain presence on Facebook.
We have identified 10 of these businesses previously and for this post, we have picked up some valuable points to hopefully help bring your page to greater heights.
1. Status Updates
Even though Facebook doesn’t have character limit for each status update, it is advisable to follow Twitter’s 140 rule to keep your updates digestible.
Unlike Twitter, the Facebook Page environment doesn’t really encourage business to babble. We seldom see updates like “I’m eating a nice chicken pie now” on a Facebook page. Keep your updates professional and yet personal. Comments can be a little more funky if it is aligned to your overall corporate image.
2. Use Applications
Looking at what iTunes (Apple) and Pizza Hut did, useful applications seem to be pretty well-liked by fans. If you’re a developer, you probably can pull this through. If not, take a look at this list of Facebook applications. They are not as awesome as what the great brands have created, but you might just find something suitable for your page.
Involver.com also provides a couple of free applications that sync your Twitter updates and YouTube channel to your Facebook page. Check it out and see what it can offer to help enhance your fans’ Facebook experience.
